One of my favorite things about weddings is seeing the beauty that can come from unexpected moments. Things don’t always go exactly according to plan, whether that’s the weather or a detail or even someone not being there that “should have been”. It’s the responses to those that typically become the things we most remember.
For Brad and Kara, there were quite a few that couldn’t be there for their wedding day. In the last few years Kara had lost her brother and a grandmother. And for Brad, he’d lost one of his best friends. During the speeches, the planned details and many tearful moments, each of those people were remembered and honored in such a beautiful way!
I love how the Lord uses tragedy and our “should have beens” to bring us closer to others. He creates such beauty in our sorrow and that beauty is what shined through all day this last Friday! He also shows off in the best ways, like how he parted the storm just long enough for Brad and Kara’s ceremony! The rain drops didn’t begin to fall until they were walking back up the aisle! Isn’t that amazing!
Brad and Kara’s wedding was also filled with just as much joy and laughter as it was tears! It was so fun to watch not only the two of them, because they love laughing together, but also to see how their friends and family celebrated them and affirmed their marriage! That may have just been my favorite part!
Before this blog post turns into a novel, I’ll end with this. Brad and Kara, thanks for not only letting me be the one to document your wedding, but also for letting me see more of Jesus through you! Your day was absolutely gorgeous and umm.. you’re married now! Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Lewis!! I’m beyond excited to watch how the Lord continues to use you in your lives together!
