The reading chosen for their ceremony was from the book of Ruth. It symbolized the beautiful blending of two cultures, two families and two lives. “Wherever you go, I’ll go. . you’re people shall be my people. . “ That seemed like the mantra for the entire day. The vows were spoken in both English and Mandarin, readings were given in the same way, the respect and thankfulness for both cultures and families made the day one that will not soon be forgotten. Adam and Zi were surrounded by so many amazing and loving people, it was such a wonderful to be a part of!
Adam and Zi are such a welcoming couple and it wasn’t hard to see where that came from! Their families invited my brother (my second photographer) and I right into every element of the day and we never met a stranger! It made it so much fun! They all care so much for each other, and not even a language barrier could keep that from shining through. Zi was so attentive to making their cultures and traditions blend beautifully as she incorporated Mandarin into their “American” wedding, through their program, her vows and a reading given by her dad. And Adam’s family brought in a Southern Louisiana tradition by having a “dollar dance” during their reception! The reception room may have been a bit tight, but it didn’t stop everyone from having a great time!
I’m so thankful that Adam and Zi came into my life back in January as they were searching for a wedding photographer. There are just some couples that make their way into your life and you just know they’ll forever be your friends, Adam and Zi are that way. I loved meeting their families and being able to capture everything that made their day so special! It was more than all the pretty details, more than just pretty pictures, the real raw moments that made up their day is what made it unique.
Adam and Zi, thank you for choosing me as your photographer. For inviting me into your wedding day and making me feel like part of the family. I hope y’all love these just as much as I do and I can’t wait to watch how the future unfolds for y’all!
The program was written in both Mandarin and English!
This chapel is absolutely gorgeous!
I love that both of Zi’s parents walked her down the aisle!
Succulents in bouquets and bouts may just be my new favorite thing!
That bouquet!!
Her veil was so long and the lace on it was just beautiful! Basically a wedding photographer’s dream!
The dollar dance was so fun! I’ve seen it at weddings before, but never like this one!
We snuck out for some sunset portraits! Just look at that view of Cinci!
