It’s always a good indicator of how fun the wedding day will be when we walk into the bridal suite and you can hear all the excitement from outside the front door! That’s one of the best ways to describe Luke & Rachael’s Newport, KY wedding at The Turn Vintage on Sunday. It was filled with genuine and abundant excitement from their friends and family over the celebration of these two becoming one! And even though all those they had planned couldn’t be there with them, it didn’t diminish the joy shared or tears shed, it made them even more beautiful.

You may notice that not only do Rachael and I share the same name, but we also spell it the exact same way! I’ve not met too many people who spell their names like mine, but the best part about it is, Rachael and I grew up going to the same church camp! I was so excited when she reached out to me about photographing her wedding! Though we went to the same camp and had many mutual friends, I never really got the chance to know Rachael super well until now. And goodness! Y’all. She is one of the sweetest people you’ll meet in your life! And Luke is the best compliment to her. You always know that a couple has something special when you see the way their friends celebrate them, that is Luke and Rachael.

Their day was inspired by a love for vintage things and you could see how much things that last matter to them. They honored so many family members who couldn’t be there, incorporated a family tradition of revealing a quilt Luke’s family had made during the ceremony, and they honored one another with a foot washing ceremony before they said their vows. Rachael wanted to have lots of time for photos as well as time to just get to be with their people and celebrate this monumental moment in their lives. And I think the entire day on Sunday reflected that intention beautifully!
