This wedding was one filled with family and legacy. And as you scroll through the details and the rest of the post, you’ll see what I mean! Kacie wore Michael’s grandma’s pearls, she carried a handkerchief that had been passed down through his family and her bouquet was adorned with a charm commemorating the family who didn’t get to witness their day. That was just the details! One of the sweetest moments of the day, though, came after the formal dances had ended and Kacie decided to surprise her grandma with a special dance! Her and her mom escorted her grandma to the middle of the dance floor and they swayed back and forth as tears streamed down their faces! It was such a sweet moment and one that they’ll forever cherish! I love that they honored the legacy of so many in their family on a day that was a huge step in their own! Just like so many elements they included to honor their family, I can just imagine years from now when Michael and Kacie will be able to pass down the memories and the images from their wedding day to their children and grandchildren!
Michael and Kacie’s wedding at Rosewood Manor was so beautiful! And like the rest of the weddings I’ve shot this season so far, it wasn’t exempt from a few weather scares! One of them approaching right at the time of the ceremony! We scurried around preparing to have the ceremony inside, while simultaneously praying that the storm would go around us so that everything could go as planned! And about the time that they were ready to walk down the aisle, the storm DID go around us and they were able to have their ceremony outside! The Lord has come through on so many occasions just in this last month and I’m so glad he chose to do it for Michael and Kacie, too! Their ceremony photos were beautiful!
These two met while still in middle school and I know that I dished out all the details of their story in their engagement session post, but it was mentioned a few times throughout their wedding day, so I couldn’t not mention it! The funny thing about their story is that Michael was head over heels for Kacie in the sixth grade, but she didn’t give him the time of day! Even after his thoughtful, “through the grapevine” way of asking her out! It took a week of counseling together at camp for her to finally come around! Now, they’re husband and wife!! It was so fun to hear the different accounts of this story from their friends throughout the day!
Michael and Kacie, congratulations again!! It was such an honor to be a part of your big day and to document each element! I hope you enjoy seeing just a few of my favorites while you’re on your honeymoon!!
